How it works

Protection that runs
in the background.

No setup, no manual scanning. PROT works automatically as you browse.

01
🔍

Detects ToS automatically

PROT recognises Terms of Service and EULA documents as you navigate to them and begins analysis instantly.

02
⚖️

Matches against law

Clauses are tested against consumer protection patterns from ACL, CRA, EU Directive 93/13/EEC, and more.

03
📊

Surfaces what matters

Risky terms are highlighted directly on the page and summarised in the popup with plain-English explanations.

04
🛡️

You decide, informed

PROT doesn't make decisions for you — it gives you the context you need to make them yourself.

⚠️

PROT is not a lawyer. Analysis results are educational only and do not constitute legal advice. Results highlight patterns that may indicate risk — they are not a definitive legal opinion. Always consult a qualified legal professional for advice about your specific situation.

☢️ Nuclear Detection

Clauses so dangerous,
they get their own severity tier.

Not all risky clauses are equal. Nuclear terms are a separate class — the kind courts have found unconscionable, or that are specifically engineered to strip you of fundamental consumer rights before you even notice. When PROT detects one, the entire report is overridden.

🎯
Triple Threat Termination Company can suspend, terminate, and withhold funds simultaneously — with no appeal.
⚖️
Survival of Liability Liability waivers persist even after the contract ends — you can't sue once you leave.
🔒
Litigation Lockout Blocks class actions, mandates arbitration, and waives your right to a jury — all at once.

🔄 Recursive Risk Analysis

A single bad clause is a red flag.
A pattern of them is a trap.

Recursive Risk doesn't just count issues — it measures how a contract is constructed. The score analyses four dimensions of systemic risk: how often the same exploitative clauses repeat, whether high-risk terms cluster together in the same section, how dense the high-severity findings are relative to the whole document, and how many different types of problematic clauses appear. A contract with one concerning clause might score low. A contract that repeats the same rights-stripping language five times, clusters it in fine print, and hits eight different clause categories? That's not an accident — and Recursive Risk will catch it.

🔁 Pattern Repetition
How many times the same exploitative clause type appears. Repeated patterns suggest intentional drafting, not oversight.
📍 Clause Clustering
Whether high-risk terms are grouped together — a common tactic to bury multiple waivers in a single dense paragraph.
⚡ High Severity Density
The ratio of high-severity findings to total clauses. A high density means most of what's flagged is genuinely serious.
🧩 Issue Diversity
How many distinct types of problematic clauses are present. More diversity means a broader, more systematic attempt to limit your rights.

🔺 Risk Heatmap

Risk isn't one-dimensional.
Neither is the analysis.

The Risk Heatmap renders your contract across three axes of consumer risk as a live radar chart. A large filled area means a lopsided agreement — small is safe, large means run.

⚖️
Power Differential Clauses that give the company unchecked control — sole discretion, unilateral termination, forced contract changes.
🔒
Litigation Lockout Class action waivers, mandatory arbitration, gag clauses — anything that blocks your path to legal remedy.
💸
Remedy Risk No-refund policies, liability waivers, and triple-threat termination — clauses that prevent you recovering anything.
