- WebAuthn: For optional account features in premium versions
Premium Features and Accounts
If you choose to upgrade to PROT Premium, you may be asked to create an account. In this case:
- Account creation only collects data necessary for account management and billing
- We collect email address and payment information (processed through secure third-party payment providers)
- Payment information is never stored by PROT; it's handled by certified payment processors
- Your analysis history and reports remain on your device
- We do not track which websites you visit or what terms you analyze
Third-Party Services
PROT may use third-party services for specific functions:
- Payment Processing: For premium subscriptions (no data shared beyond payment info)
- Analytics (Optional): Only if you explicitly enable usage analytics in settings
We do not share your data with third parties except where necessary for payment processing.
Security
Since PROT processes everything locally on your device, your data benefits from your device's security. However, we recommend:
- Keeping your browser and operating system updated
- Using strong passwords for premium accounts
- Installing from official Chrome Web Store only
