By installing, accessing, and using the PROT Chrome extension ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use PROT.

PROT is a Chrome extension that analyzes Terms of Service and End User License Agreements for potentially unfair or risky terms based on consumer protection laws. The Service performs analysis locally on your device and provides reports highlighting identified issues.

Users acknowledge that:

• PROT may not analyze all Terms of Service documents perfectly
• Some terms may be missed or incorrectly identified
• Browser compatibility may affect functionality
• Performance may vary depending on your device and connection
• PROT works best on desktop browsers; mobile experience may be limited

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PROT and its developers shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Damages arising from your reliance on PROT's analysis
• Damages related to third-party services or websites analyzed

You agree not to:

• Modify, reverse engineer, or attempt to circumvent the extension
• Use PROT to analyze Terms of Service unlawfully
• Use the extension for illegal purposes or activities
• Attempt to bypass security measures or authentication
• Use PROT in any way that violates applicable laws or Chrome Web Store policies

Premium subscription terms:

• Premium features require a paid subscription
• Subscription fees are billed according to your chosen plan (monthly or annual)
• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Refunds are subject to our refund policy — see clause 12
• Premium features include advanced analysis, legal references, and priority support
• Access continues for the duration of your paid subscription period

PROT's design, code, algorithms, and analysis patterns are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may:

• Use the extension for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Not distribute, sell, or license PROT without permission
• Not create derivative works without explicit authorization

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your device and browser
• Your use of PROT and reliance on its analysis
• Verifying any legal information independently
• Complying with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction

We reserve the right to:

• Discontinue or materially change the Service with notice
• Remove your access if you violate these Terms
• Suspend services for maintenance or security reasons

We offer the following refund policy and intend to comply with all applicable local laws:

• Full refund within 14 days of purchase for any subscription, no questions asked
• Prorated refunds if you cancel mid-subscription period after 14 days, based on unused time
• No refunds for partial usage after the 14-day period, except where required by applicable law
• Refund requests must be submitted via our support email listed in clause 15

PROT may update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify users of material changes.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of your jurisdiction, with particular attention to:

• Consumer Protection Laws (ACL, CRA, GDPR)
• Your local and national regulations
• Any applicable international consumer protection standards

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PROT regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements or understandings.
